Connection means Health and Creativity
“It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.”
Seneca
I normally feel easily inspired and my writing begins to flow after a short while into the writing process, but this week it was somehow different. I felt uninspired, almost empty bordering to the state of being bored.
How I find inspiration
There is a plethora of inspiring themes in health, Yoga, body, and mind and yet nothing came to mind or better “nothing mattered”. I am sure that every person that reads my writing has experienced this state before.
What is that sense of boredom, meaninglessness that creates physical and mental tiredness in us? Have you asked yourself that? Are we meant to be like that?
“All too often we become blocked and blame it on other things, this is never an authentic block. The authentic block is our feeling of constriction, our sense of powerlessness.”
Julia Cameron, The artist’s way
This quote makes a crucial point that most of us ignore or don’t know. All disconnections and boredem derive from fear, the most frequent fear is the fear of not being capable or not being good enough.
Why fear is the opposite of being empowered
So many good projects, exercise programs, adventures have not been brought to completion or not even begun for that deepest fear. This fear is the opposite of being empowered.
As a Yoga teacher and artist, I often need to see eye to eye with this fear in my own practices. My students also report that they were of best intention and’ something’ happened and they just couldn’t make it to class or step on their Yoga mat at home.
”Why bother” is another form of saying I am not worth it and yet it always is.
I often wonder about the content of school curricula. It appears obvious yet it hardly ever gets taught at a young age that any progress is made by leaps of faith.
We need to harness faith in the value and meaningfulness of our own actions.
Self–reliance is an important element for any innovative doing or thinking. This mental freedom and sense of one’s own power is directly related to connectedness.
The art and science of Yoga
In the art and science of Yoga the state of connectedness is considered the state of balance and health. Connected means that we are consciously aware of our physical core, our breath, and our extremities.
The physical connectivity ensures simultaneously our mental and emotional alignment. Depression is often (not always) a loss of hope or loss of sight of personal power.
Yoga is a form of systematically mapping the human body and its placement in its environment.
Yoga is a form of systematically mapping the human body and its placement in its environment. Many diseases occur when there is disconnection somewhere in the body.
Disconnection means a block in our energetic system where power does not get transformed into energy. Poor posture, restraining the breath and lack of exercise are frequent causes of physical disconnection
